At OMS, we begin with the basic premise that the Great Commission communicates a present and urgent call on the life of every Christian. In the long tradition from Abraham, we are all blessed to be a blessing ― richly blessed in order that we might be a blessing to others. The single greatest blessing we have to share is the gift of eternal life given freely to us ― a gift for which there is no shortage of need.

As never before in the history of the Church, we are poised to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Make no mistake: the task is huge. However, we are not only called to the task, we are also empowered for the task. That empowering will be most fully realized when individuals, churches and mission agencies work together sacrificially and efficiently in response to this greatest of tasks given to us by the Lord. 

Victory lies not only in the overall task. It is also found with each individual who turns from a life of hopelessness to a life filled with God’s grace. Through the work of OMS missionaries and national co-workers, we see lives, families and even neighborhoods changed every day. I hope you will take time to read some of these exciting stories found on this website. 

The call and equipping are clear. The only question that remains is how we will respond. I urge you to prayerfully consider how God is calling you to reach the nations for Christ. There is a place for you in this God-given task.
