Mexico Prayer Requests

Feb. 24- Mar 2. 2010

MEXICO—Pray for true unity in the La Raza team and for the appointment of a leader. Pray for wisdom as to when to start Sunday services. Pray for growth in the Loma Nevada house church. Uplift the training with lay leaders on Sunday afternoons and the praise team being formed as part of that training. Pray for members of the house churches to see the need and catch the vision to work with the children.

Praise the Lord that Alejandro Cazares’s (Every Community for Christ Campanario) mother’s health has stabilized. Pray for the choice of high school for his daughter Marlen.
 

January 20-26, 2010

MEXICO—Pray for continued direction for ECC worker Araceli Trujelo during the coming year. Ask the Lord for wisdom, provision and grace to minister and make plans for a move to Tabasco.

Ask the Lord for revival in the house churches and among the leaders who will take part in special training on January 30.

Uplift Guille Buiendia, OMS office secretary, and family as they mourn the death of her mother.

Ask that the house churches in Tlalne and Nicolas Romero grow both spiritually and numerically.

Sadie Graham arrives in Mexico later this month from the U.K. Uplift her during packing and saying her goodbyes for the year.
 

October 28th- Nov 3rd, 2009

MEXICO—Pray for the anniversary for the Coacalco church on November 1 to be a time of rejoicing and growth. A special service is planned, and the people are being encouraged to invite friends and family who don’t know Jesus.

Continue to uplift the Romero family as they make preparations for the arrival of a new baby while still mourning the loss of their toddler.

Rich and Anita Yoder will be in Mexico from October 27–November 5. Pray for good communication between them and the ECC workers. Ask the Lord for a fresh vision for the workers.

September 16-22, 2009

MEXICO—Last week Imra's mom had four mini strokes and is doing much better. Continue to be in prayer for the family and for this dear saint as she begins rehab.

September is independence month for Mexico and the streets and houses are festooned with green, white and red. Pray for the churches preparing for the celebrations. Each year this is a big evangelistic outreach. September 15 is the actual day but celebrations begin on the 12th.

Pray for the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) groups starting up in Campanario and La Loma.

Praise God for the ECC training on September 8. Pray for much fruit from their labors especially during these festive days.

Sept 2-9, 2009

On September 4 Leroy Lindsey travels to Phoenix where he will give seminars to Salvation Army leaders. Pray for safe travel, the Lord's direction of his thoughts and responsive hearts.

The Leroy and Kay Lindsay are thankful for your prayers for their trip to Latin America. There were 50 students and they feel the training was well received. Pray that it will bear fruit in the weeks and years ahead.

We are delighted that Margaret Neff and Robin Efing have returned to the field following homeland assignment. Pray that they will settle in quickly to life and ministry again and in particular that they will find a suitable house to live in.

Thank you for your prayers for the VBS clubs over the summer. Many hundreds of kids attended the different groups and heard the gospel. Pray for growth of those who responded and for the work that continues in follow-up with kids and their families.

The Steve and Helen and daughter Nisha Cosslett (from the UK) have arrived in Costa Rica for language learning. Pray that they will pick things up quickly and be encouraged. Remember the families they leave behind and particularly little Nisha as she adjusts to her new environment.

June 17-23, 2009

MEXICO—Praise God for a great ALMA Marriage Encounter weekend. Several people gave their lives to Christ, and others recommitted themselves to their wedding vows. Please continue praying for the follow-up work. ALMA is to be restructured to be put under the UNIFAM board. Pray for grace and mercy and a successful transition.

Pray for a group in Chihuahua who wish to start their own ALMA group in 2010. Pray that they will find the personnel necessary and that God will be glorified in the restoration of marriages in another part of Mexico.

Pray for the Pollock, Cosslett, Reid and Lakatos families, attending CROSS Training at OMS headquarters in July. Pray that they will be able to concentrate, absorb the teaching and that it will prove useful for their transition to the field. Pray that their kids will settle quickly into the care provided.

A new center has opened on the south side of Mexico City (Xochimilco). They hope that, through training, counseling and community help, many will come to know Christ personally. Please pray for this new endeavor.

May 27-June 4, 2009

MEXICO—Continue to remember the Marriage Encounter scheduled for May 29-31. The team expects 55 couples to particiipate. They are praying for God to speak and for the couples to allow Him to change their lives.

Uplift the churches and house churches, regrouping after the upheaval of the flu epidemic. Pray that people will return and that there will be continued growth as they resume normal life. Remember the leaders, ministering to families affected by the crisis, and pray that God will be glorified in the salvation of many precious souls.

Remember the continuation of Colleen Taylor’s English classes. Pray for the salvation of her students.

Pray for Jonny and Julie Pollock’s resettlement back on the field with their little baby Ben. They praise God that in all the changes and stresses over the last few weeks, they have seen Him at work in their lives and ministries. They are enjoying renewing fellowship with their friends.

Danielle Bickerstaff (six-week short termer) recently arrived on the field. Pray that she will quickly settle into life in Mexico and that she will be blessed as she ministers here.

Andrew and Carol Agnew and family are currently in the U.K. and will return to the field at the end of May. They appreciate your prayers for rest and a safe journey back.
